Working At Home

I had never been fond of drawing or any art related matter. I used to ask people to draw and pay (obviously) them for their services. When there is a drawing homework, I immediately ask my Dad to draw it (He's in fact very happy to do it!) and when the morning comes, PRESTO! My homework's done! Didn't even lift a finger! Then there's the time when I need to choose a college, I really can't seem to fathom why every college I had an exam to, I chose courses that's related to Arts. Seriously. So when I was considered in UST for an Arts course, I was required to submit 3 drawing for their consideration. In my mind, "whatthefuck?!" OKAY OKAY PANIC, ang babaw right? But I'm really having a hard time to draw, so what I did, again, I asked someone to do it, mind you I didn't pay him! I submitted and poof! nothing! I ended up being interviewed for my 2nd choice which is Food Tech. LOL! But decided don't want to pursue anything food related and I really don't want to enter UST anyway. Well anyways to keep the long story short, I ended up with a degree in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). Kidding! LOL it's Multimedia Arts. I focused on contemporary graphic designs (I may not be good at hand drawing atleast I'm good at computer graphics! bleh!)

Having a degree in computer graphics, you get to work with only your computer and you can finish a job with just your computer. There's no coordinating with other people, meeting with this and that yada yada. So here comes the super best parts of majoring in graphics or arts related course perse, 1. You can work for freelance (NO boss!) 2. You can work at home! 3. You can schedule your own nap / yosi / lunch / snack / brunch break 4. Facebooking while working! Sounds good eh? Well, I haven't done freelance work for quite sometime now and I kind of missed it. I tried searching online for something like Craigslist (don't try Craigslits, there are a lot of scammers! Although I got some pretty good projects there, but beware). I chanced upon Task Army, basically it's an online community where you can register the services you offer or if you're looking for someone to do a certain job for you, you can try scouting there. There are a lot of these kinds of websites, like Elance,  I saw some crazy offers there like "Can add 1000 likes to your Facebook fanpage" LOL Go! Try it!

Now, hire me on TaskArmy!

Will post some of my sample contemporary logo designs soon! :)

Paper Castle

Can you imagine what to do with a paper? Aside from making origami and other folded thingies? Well, Wataru Itou (伊藤航), a young student of a major art university in Tokyo has outdone himself by making a castle out of paper. Guess how long it took him to finish this? 4 effin' years! hahaha! That is one very patient guy! the piece of work is really marvelous! I'll bet it would look so effin' gorgeous in person!

Goody Simple Styles Collection

I saw Spin Pins on Youtube video and fell inlove instantly! I immediately bought one! Good Released Simple Styles Collections a couple of years back (goodness, I'm so outdated!) I was just browsing Youtube and I was curious what are the Spin Pins, I watched and immediately bought a box! It's totally awesome and no rubber thingies needed, it can really and I mean really hold your bun! I've used this last Sunday, and I haven't retouched my high -bun the whole day! (swear!!) I'm really impressed! A pair of these Spin Pins cost around Php550+, not more than Php600. I bought mine in PCX. There are other tools that Goody came up with, I'm eyeing for the Modern Updo. *giddy*

Benefit Eye Bright: Multiple Ways on How to Use

This cute little pencil really does wonders! before I thought that I can replace this with a white eyeliner pencil, but using white eyeliner pencil makes it look really white, so scratch that. though white eyeliner pencil is great for lining the lower middle waterline (only in the middle, it mainly to give contrast to the brown area of your eye) enough white eyeliner, I read and watched a good amount of reviews for this tiny pencil and I thought that I can also use this for other areas of my face not just in the lid or inner corners of your eye!

Draw a fish around your eye. Put less on the eyebags area, you don't want it to look too white. Remember to blend (semi tap and semi smear)

This is what I usually do to really touch the outer corner of my eye, with less strokes!

Lower waterline. It gives more brightening effect to your eyes, makes it look more awake.

Pat a little under the brow bone. SPREAD! Again, you don't want it too white.

On the side your nose. This area usually gives unflattering shadows to your face.

last but not the least! I sometimes also use this as a highlighter, dabbing it just above the cheeks (some highlighter gives me that oily effect by mid day, and I hate it), not too much. Just to give an ample brightening effect because it has micro glitters! :)

Let me know what you think!

My Undying Benefit Love

I'm sure you ladies are waaaay over hearing raves about the new benefit Cosmetics store in Greenbelt. I'm sure everyone of you knows that you can grab your favorite fixes there! I've been a fan of Benefit since the day I laid my eyes on their counter in Harbour City in Hong Kong! It was their first branch at that time there, being a BIG fan, I was blown away! I totally hoard! and I wasn't satisfied, I went back before we go home to Manila! We stayed at the Marco Polo Hong Kong, so it was just a walking distance to the mall (Thank you Lord!!) I still remember this because I didn't go shopping for clothes or other stuff, I just literally bought Benefit products!

Hearing that they will open a branch here in our shores, made me giddy and excited! To think I only get my Benefit fixes when we go to Hong Kong, but now?! Ha! I'll go straight to Makati! With my busy December schedule, full of bazaars and delivery ek ek, I never got the chance to visit Greenbelt. Not until yesterday! Uhuh! Well, this time no need for hoarding. It's not good to speend too much since it's Chinese New Year. They say it's bad luck to spend on New Year. Oh well. I still spent..a little :) haha!

The items I got, Porefessional, Bathina and Eye Bright

Eye Bright testing

Eye Bright when blended, tilted my hand so that you can see that there's a
minimum amount of glitters / shimmer

Porefessional --uber love this! it give you a velvet matte finish! you can use
this on top (gives an airbrush finish) or under your makeup

Bathina, sa sobrang tuwa ko, nakalimutang kong kunan ng picture :/

New addtion to my kit!! Darn my Shu Uemura Glow On is smashed :(

Sorry forgot to take Bathina's picture on skin! But I swear! it's nice! At first I don't want to buy this because It's just a waste of money, I can use a lotion with glitters or a large brush and dip it to my highlighter powder and brush it to my legs to give a wonderful sheen. But by the time I tried the tester, I bought it immediately haha! it's different than your regular highlighter, it doesn't have large glitters, it gives a dewy shiny look that's really sexy when applied to the legs! It's one of their best sellers too! and I chitchatted a MA before and swears that Bathina is what celebrities (like Kim Chiu) uses. Diba Chikadora?!

Other Benefit Cosmetics that I tried:
Posietint
Ooh La Lift
Dandelion
Georgia
Badgal Eyeliner
Lemonaid
Erase paste

Lemming for:
Watt's Up
Hervana
Stay Don't Stray (read a lot of nega reviews, will still do more research)

I do have some not-so-lovely purchases from Benefit, I'm really sad about this because they are NOT CHEAP! they're like more expensive than MAC. Although their packaging is a plus for me! the 50's (or 60's? 70's?) themed going on is so awesome!

Will post my not-so-lovely Benefit purchases on my next post.
